The Kern County Chapter of the California Grand Jurors' Association(KCGJA) has established a two phased training program for Kern County prospective jurors and selected Grand Jurors and alternates. This training is done before the two day session provided by the California Grand Juors' Association(CGJA). The following is an example of schedules and curriculum:

AFTERNOON SESSION
12:30pm Overview of the Grand Jury complaint procedure, complaints,
complaint response types, how to handle, documentation,
complaint log and past complaint file utilization
1:00pm Overview of Final Report writing, preparation for writing a final
report, purpose of report, reviewing data, reporting findings,
conclusions, recommendations, submitting report to Edit
Committee and the Grand Jury for approval
1:45pm Welcoming of the jury by the Presiding Judge of
the Kern County Superior Court
2:00pm Questions and Answer Session followed by adjournment
